Nova 1974

From Mame, 1973

After leaving Nova in 1974, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1979. In 1980, I moved to Boone, North Carolina where I worked at Appalachian State University.

While working and living in Boone, I earned my Master of Arts degree, met my husband, Donald, and adopted my daughter, Jessica. My careers in Boone included actress, singer, catering coordinator, banquet manager, waitress, bartender, and day care teacher, research assistant, teaching assistant and part-time faculty member at ASU .

My family moved to Charlotte in 1987, where I have been teaching choral music the past 14 years. I currently teach at Butler High School. I have remained active in musical theatre, playing many roles in community and professional theatre groups in the area. I am currently cast as Ms. Sowerberry in a summer theatre production of Oliver.

While in Boone, I also enjoyed singing with various bands, performing jazz and standards. I have been an alto section leader and soloist at Covenant Presbyterian Church since 1988, where I often conduct the choir when needed. I live with my family on a quiet street about 5 minutes from downtown Charlotte with our 3 dogs, Pearl, Gizmo and Christina, and our 2 cats, Fruitcake and Roscoe.
