After Graduation from Nova High in 1977, I went to the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Like 3000 other Freshmen, I was Pre-Med until I took a trip up to Emery University in Atlanta with Tommy Yianilos to visit his brother Peter and fell in love with computers.

I made that my major (this is going back before the PC was invented in 1981) and have been in Data Processing ever since.

I am a Systems Project Manager at Florida Power & Light Company and have been with them for now over 17 years. I'm currently Project Manager for their Year 2000 project.

Ever since I can remember I had a crush on Amy Kline (Nova High class of '76) (she sat with me twice on the bus the year I was in 8th grade). I followed her whereabouts for years until I finally was lucky enough to marry her.

We have three wonderful boys (Josh-15 (in 2 weeks), Joey-12 and Daniel-6). We live in South Florida in Pembroke Pines.

I pursued a couple of activities to continue enjoying participation in the performing arts. I sang in the University of Florida Men's Glee Club for 3 years and also sang with the Miamians (a men's barbershop chorus), for several years after graduating college.

I also pursued Power Lifting to emulate my friend in High School, Mike Brannon, and achieved a national ranking of 67th in my weight class in the bench press (lifetime best of lifting 305 pounds at 140 pounds of weight). Now I just work out to stay in shape and battle the bulge. I also just completed my first Marathon in Disney World in January of this year.

I am so grateful to be associated with this incredible group, and always seize the opportunity to let people know that although I was in the back row, I am and will always consider myself very lucky to have been a part of our magic.

After graduating Nova High School in 1972, I went on to the University of South Florida where I graduated in 1976 with a B.A. in Mass Communications, specializing in Public Relations.

I've been in the Public Relations/Promotions profession since 1979. I have been the Director of Communications for The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale since 1999 where I manage all internal and external communications for students, staff, faculty, and alumni. I head up a wonderful team including a web developer, art director, and marketing coordinator. Working with a myriad talented and creative people is a blast. I learn so many cool things on a daily basis. I am always amazed at the artistic and imaginative talents of everyone around me. Prior to this position, I worked for over 15 years at WPBT/Channel 2, public television in South Florida in a few areas such as public relations, membership, and marketing for the nationally syndicated Nightly Business Report. I still keep an association with the station as on-air talent during its membership campaigns (the person who breaks into your favorite show asking for support).

When I am not working I take care of my husband Jack and two incredible kids – Marissa (who is studying music education at the University of Miami) and Michael (soon to be a senior in high school). Music, the theatre, and the arts are still as important to me as an adult as it was when I was at Nova.

As for HHPA...I am so privileged to be a part of this remarkable organization. It's wonderful being embraced by so many people from all around the country who get together every so often to celebrate music, life and memories
